IXOS Divo: a classy solution for making your portable player the heart of a home hi-fi
IXOS, a well-established name in audiophile accessories, launched a new range of speakers and MP3 accessories last year and have now unveiled their flagship unit, the Divo home hi-fi system with iPod dock and multiple AV inputs. This is a classy-looking piece of kit, beautifully styled and aimed not only at portable audio integration in the home but also as an upgrade to the latest generation of flat-screen LCD TVs. According to IXOS, "Technological advances have allowed for TVs to be designed thinner, with improved picture resolution, but although cosmetically pleasing it gives limited space for the speakers, meaning the sound quality suffers. Divo is one of the first high performance music systems to incorporate TV sound upgrade with connections for other popular electronic devices such as iPod™ / iPhone™, MP3 players, smart phones, laptops and gaming consoles."
The system features a separate, compact subwoofer that uses an Acoustic Air Spring passive radiator for extended bass output. As well as a Universal iPod/iPhone dock, inputs include stereo phono for TV connection and a 3.5mm auxiliary input at the rear of the docking station for connection to laptops and other portable music devices. New Bose speaker system offers replaceable iPod docking module Bose will begin shipping its SoundDock 10 in the USA this month, with the European roll-out due shortly. The SoundDock 10 is the latest of the company's iPod-compatible speaker systems and features a docking module that can be changed to accommodate future versions of iPods and iPhones - something a number of other manufacturers already offer. Designed with the challenge of being good enough to be a home's primary source of music, the new SoundDock will have a US retail price of just under 600 dollars.
Dual Electronics launches iPod-ready In-Car hi-fi receivers in the US
Dual Electronics has unveiled seven new car receivers all equipped to work with a range of mobile audio devices including iPods, iPhones and Bluetooth-enabled players. Leading from the top is the XDVDN9131, selling for a little under 700 dollars in the US. It features a seven-inch LCD touch screen, integrated GPS navigation and a built-in SD card reader.
